"To have your childhood dream realized is a really big deal." Maya Rudolph
You hear it often. "Every little girl dreams of her wedding day." "Every little girl's dream dress". I know some children and teens plan their weddings. I remember keeping notebooks of magazine clippings and drawings for everything. One for my wedding, one for travel, and one for interior decorating. This was before Pinterest (actually BEFORE internet though I hate to admit that!). I can't possibly be the only one! What did your dream wedding look like when you were young?
Now it is much easier with Pinterest and online files to dream of weddings. My daughter LOVES being a flower girl and dressing up for photos and she often talks about what she will do for her wedding. So what would it look like if a little girl had a dream come true? Would it translate into an adult wedding? We all know some little girls would pick a rainbow theme and ride in on a unicorn and really with the capabilities of today's trends, that is not totally out of the question. Like all little girls though, my daughter changes her mind daily. She is consistent on many things but she goes through phases on colors etc. One month it is everything PINK, the next she loves all things AQUA or MINT.
This summer she was all about Peaches and Giraffes. (She's always loved giraffes and has a herd of them on her bed that she rotates for nightly cuddles). Some amazing vendors and I decided to make a little girl's dream wedding a reality and it was beautiful! I hope you journey with us for this look at a Little Girl's Peach Dream Wedding. Be sure to watch the video here: It's a magical story!
It all begins with an idea. Every wedding does right? A Walk through a peach orchard with your favorite dude...aka Max the Giraffe imagining dancing on your wedding day with your groom sparks a lifelong dream of what your romance will be. Millstone Creek Orchard in Ramseur opened their beautiful orchard to us at sunset to dance amongst the trees and dream peachy dreams.
We invite you to a day of Peach Wedding Play in this dreamy wedding styled session! Invitations by the AMAZING Taaenoelle and Co!
The sweetest dreams turn into a beautiful wedding. An amazing stage was set at The Longhouse Event Venue in Stokesdale, NC. Anna, the amazing director there collaborated with me from day one on developing the ideas for this summer shindig and we were so excited when this Peach Dream wedding inspiration hit. We sent our very own Pinterest Board to Dahlia's Floral Designs (of Clemmons area) and Rosa Mae's Catering who provided some amazing decor, flowers, and food to compliment what Anna had designed. A gang of kids ready to play in party clothes provided by Suburban Made and Black Tie Formal Wear topped off by styling from Reflections Hair Salon (all of High Point).
What would this dream wedding entail without the future version of Katie to enjoy this childhood vision? Lauren and Nate were the perfect couple for our story! Dresses and accessories provided by Songbirds Consignment were perfect for this sweet southern fairy tale.
What would a child's play day (or adult reception) be without cookies and custom drinks? NM's Cookies and Bungalow and Brews are always a perfect treat for any party or event!
We want to thank ALL the vendors who were inspired with this session and assisted not only on their parts but on the production side. In addition to the above, Amanda K Creative handled video and to the parents of all our sweet kids who came to play, thank you, thank you, thank you. We hope your sweet kids enjoyed working with us too!
We will send you on your way to dreamland, with a royal exit fit for any bride but especially a little princess with a carriage ride into the sunset by Dorvit's Carriage Rides. It may not be a unicorn but these beautiful gypsy horses and pristine carriages are definitely a dream come true!
We hope you are all dreaming of beauty and fairy tales and that they all come true for you. All of these amazing vendors are here for you and we hope we inspire you for your beautiful days to come! Comment and tell us what you think of our "A Little Girls Dream Come True: Peach Dream Wedding".
