Mardi Gras of the Carolinas: Castle McCulloch Festival

It is always a pleasure to photograph events that are full of life, fun and color. That is one of the reasons why we love weddings. Weddings are the one day in life that you can choose as much pomp as you wish. Go glam, fun, themed, or whatever speaks to you as a couple. Your wedding tells us a lot about who you are as a person and we are after all the modern day bard. We may not sing of the great deeds of men, but we record the big moments of your life for future generations to witness.

Festivals where people meet and let loose are a nice change of pace for us. For the past several years we have photographed at each Castle McCulloch festival. We see some of the same people and a lot of new faces and performances each time.  We enjoy seeing the new costumes the regulars create each time, the new acts booked and of course the standard shenanigans that go on.

The Spring Mardi Gras brought out an interesting artist who uses fire to create works of art from wood, a giant fire canon, as well as some interesting circus style acts. Considering it was called THE FIRE SHOW, it really lived up to its name! Enjoy the gallery and share the images! We hope to see you all out there in August!
