Harry Potter themed Engagement Session

Engagement sessions are one of my favorite things to shoot. They allow you to really get to know your wedding couple and get them behind the camera. I have found that those couples I get to shoot beforehand tend to be a little more relaxed when it comes time for their wedding photos as well. They know what to expect, what they will look like and we have developed a relationship between them and my camera. I know their best angles, how to make them laugh, smile or be serious.

A wedding photographer is the one vendor that is truly with you, by your side basically, the entire time. It's really great to have developed a relationship with them. Is it necessary? no. I do enjoy it though.

I am a story-teller. In olden days, my job would probably have been a Bard, traveling from castle to castle singing songs of great deeds and love stories in exchange for a meal and shelter. (okay, really I would have been XENA warrior princess but I digress). Seriously, my job is to tell a story. The saying goes "a picture is worth a thousand words" and I talk...A LOT! I take a LOT of photos...and they tell stories. I tell your story to be exact.

Sometimes, to tell a story about a couple, we choose a theme based on

their likes and adventures together versus just colors, items, places that mean a lot to that couple. This fun session was Harry Potter themed at a Castle no less! Hogwarts and Harry have nothing on this adorable couple! I am so looking forward to shooting their wedding this weekend!
